*Games that made my top 10 of all time list.

This last year was so much fun for me to try so many new games. I attended both the World Series of Board Games in Las Vegas and BGG Con in Dallas. Playing Brass, Blood Rage, and Tigris in the same year was quite the shakeup for my top ten games and removing some beloved games like Star Wars Rebellion and Scythe was not easy. I think something that will be fun is to give some awards to games:

Best NTM Game of The Year: Brass: Birmingham. As the number two game of all time on BGG, this was quite an easy choice because the game lives up to the hype. I really enjoyed learning and playing a few rounds of this game before I competed in the world series in October.

Most Played Game of The Year: MTG/Chess. It's hard to know which I played more but I don't think I will ever play any other games as much as I play Magic and Chess. To me, these games book end my top ten for a reason, they are timeless and darn near perfect for my pallet.

Most Underrated Game of The Year: Scout. I absolutely fell in love with Scout after one afternoon. What is even better is the amazing app you can play against AI or friends that allows me to play remotely with Katie. Scout is probably the most played new game to me, and I only learned how to play in December. Even in the new year, I have racked up quite a few plays with a variety of groups.

Most Underwhelming Game of The Year: Turing Machine. This game is a lot of fun to play when you have some time and brain juice. That being said, even some of the most experienced gamers I know struggled to understand the rules the first time around and that only made the game more frustrating for me to bring to the table. I am probably keeping a copy for now but might choose to sell in the future since I don't see myself playing anytime soon.

Most Anticipated Game of 2023: Heat Petal to the Metal. I cannot wait to try this deck-building racing game in the new year. It was hard to get in 2022 and I didn't get to play at BGG Con so I am looking forward to it this year!
